Welcome to the White Plains Rugby Football Club!

Westchester’s Home to the Fastest-Growing Sport in America

White Plains Rugby Football Club

White Plains Rugby is a Division 1 Club member of the Empire Geographic Rugby Football Union. We have a storied history both on and off the field, winning the Met Union Division 1 Championships in 1988, 1989, 2000, 2006, and 2007. In 2008 we competed in the National Club Playoffs “Sweet 16.”

Our annual Jo-Jo Moore Rugby Tournament is held in June at the NY Military Academy. This is a competitive tournament every year with clubs coming from as far away as Japan. Proceeds from the tournament are donated to help one of our own, Matt “Jo-Jo” Moore who is a quadriplegic after having suffered a severe spinal injury in 1991 during an Old Boys rugby match. For more information on the upcoming Jo-Jo Tournament please see our JoJo Moore Tournament Page.

If you are looking to play rugby and think you have what it takes to contribute to a division 1 or division 3 premier rugby club please send an email to info@wprfc.org. We have many practice and conditioning fields so please contact us for directions to our ongoing activities year round.

Premier Club

Our premier club side has matches and tournaments scheduled throughout the spring, summer, and fall. We field both a full A side and B side at our matches. Competition is fierce for A-Side play and only the best players start. However players of all ability levels are welcome; we pride ourselves on teaching rugby and developing players to compete for the A-Side.

Coach Daniel Pazio runs practice and conditioning for the Premier Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please see our latest news to the right of the page for the latest start time, location, and directions.

Old Boys

Our Old Boys "Classix" are arguably the best “Old Boy” (over 35) club in the East. The "Classix" field both over 35 AND over 45 teams. We are not just looking for exercise as we get older- WE ARE COMPETITIVE. Winning the 2009 Can-Am Tournament with our over 35 team in Saranac, NY last summer and more recently winning the Four-Leaf Tournament in New York City this Spring.

We have touch rugby on Thursday evenings. We have Old Boy matches in the spring, summer, and fall. Most "Classix" players are former White Plains Premier Club members, but we welcome Old Boys from all over, who were originally affiliated with a different club.

If you are interested in joining up with the "Classix" please fill out our New Member Registration Form or send an email to Jason Cohen.

Our Beloved Team Doctor

If you are in need of Orthopaedic care, our team Doctor, Marc Kowalsky, will be happy to help. His information is below; he is a former Dartmouth Rugby Player and will be in attendance at our home games. Feel free to approach him with questions when you see him at games, he is easy to talk to and has a passion for the game of rugby.
