The White Plaines NYCONN Rugby Football Club invites you to the world of rugby football played at its highest level in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area. We look forward to explaining the game of rugby football and WPRFC’s many involvements; e.g. the rugby teams we field, tournaments we attend and host, youth programs we sponsor, and community fund raising and humanitarian efforts that we promote and participate in; most notably the Jo Jo Moore Rugby Tournament.

WPRFC is a 501c3 amateur athletic organization focused on being proactive in the community; both on and off the athletic field. Our mission as an organization since 1972 is to promote the growth and development of the game of rugby football by providing education on how to play rugby and opportunities to participate for athletes at many levels of age and ability. Our premier side (A-Team) is very competitive and successful in the Northeast Rugby Union play, qualifying for the national playoffs annually for the past 9 years, and in 2006 and 2007 winning the Greater Metropolitan New York Rugby Championship, Division I.

But high level competition is not all that WPRFC is about. The Club also believes in promoting the development of rugby at grass roots levels through sponsoring youth programs and sending promising high school and college players to camps and tournaments to enhance their development. In addition, WPRFC tries to give back to the community through its annual blood drive to benefit White Plains Hospital, and through hosting the Jo Jo Moore Rugby Tournament to benefit the family of a player who suffered a catastrophic injury.

Sponsorship

As an amateur athletic organization, sponsorship is of paramount importance to the Club’s abilities to promote the rugby and its youth developmental programs. We cannot through dues and subscriptions alone support the many activities in which the Club is engaged. Travel, coaching, equipment, facilities, dues, referees, tournaments, player development all cost money. Our budget for 2008 is available in the Sponsorship Package available for download. This will help you better understand where the organization’s money comes from and where it goes. What we offer to sponsors is the opportunity to partner with an organization that is local community based yet national and international in its scope and reach. We try to promote our sponsors, as they are supporting us.

Sponsorship Publicity Examples include:

  - Corporate name and logo included on all merchandise provided by the Club worn and sold by the Club

  - Banner advertisement with hyperlink link prominently displayed on the WPRFC website.

  - Status as Official Sponsor at the Jo Jo Moore Rugby Tournament

  - Prominently placed tournament booth for sales or promotion of your company

  - 3 x 8 foot banner displayed at all WPRFC home games

  - Invitation to participate in all Club banquets, fund-raising events, golf outings, cruises

  - Acknowledgement in publicity and news about WPRFC

  - Articles and pictures from WPRFC events to publish in Sponsor’s internal or external publications

  - Stories, player profiles, human interest content that is available for Sponsor use.

We are also open to our Sponsors’ thoughts about how we may help Sponsors in other ways. Our objective is to develop a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship.
